AMOXITEX for the treatment of ornamental and
caged birds of non-chlamydial intestinal and respiratory
bacterial infections.
AMOXITEX
for primary and secondary bacterial infections in the drinking water.

NOTE: Remove all other water supply including fresh greens & fruit during treatment.

Limited use of Antibiotics
The use of antibiotics should always be the last resort. Over use of antibiotics can result in drug-resistant strains of bacteria to develop. However, if you strongly believe that infection is indeed caused by bacteria then I would treat with the broad spectrum antibiotic Amoxitex. This will eliminate any bacteria that the bird may be carrying. Make sure you follow the label directions and give the full course of antibiotic.

NOTE:
Anytime you administer a medication (including antibiotics) you should discontinue use of all other dietary supplements. Some vitamin and mineral supplements may render the medication ineffective or react with the medication leading to more illness and or organ damage.

USE Drinking Water: Enclosed scoop holds one level teaspoon.
Two (2) level teaspoons per one quart
Two (2) level teaspoons per 4 cups
One (1) level teaspoon per 2 cups

Crop Tube Dose: Most finches weigh 15 grams.
Mix one (1) level teaspoon in 3 teaspoons of water.
Give only 0.2ml or 0.2CC to your average finch daily.

Crop Tube Dose: Large Birds
Mix one (1) level teaspoon of AMOXITEX to three level teaspoons of clean water and administer
to the crop at the rate of one teaspoon per pound of bird’s weight.

Mix a fresh solution every day for five consecutive days. If bird does not respond to treatment or if bird's condition worsens, consult a veterinarian. Keep container closed before and after use.

Probiotic Treatment:
In birds with naturally occurring "friendly gut bacteria", a Probiotic treatment is recommended after any antibiotic course.

PRECAUTIONS:
Keep out of reach of children. Not for use in birds whose meat or eggs are intended for human consumption.

ACTIVE INGREDIENTS:
Amoxicillin Trihydrate.... 150mg/g
Tylosin Tartrate.... 100mg/g

WARNING:
To reduce the development of drug-resistant bacteria and maintain the effectiveness of AMOXITEX and other antibacterial drugs, AMOXITEX should only be used to treat or prevent infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by bacteria.
